As a key core infrastructure funded by Can-SOLVE CKD, the Canadian Nephrology Trials Network (CNTN) is working to increase the number of high-quality, kidney-focused randomized controlled trials in Canada.
An upcoming workshop to be held in Toronto on September 27-28 will bring together a broad cross-section of Canada’s kidney research community to develop a collaborative vision and sustainability strategy for CNTN. Workshop attendees will include university and community researchers, nephrology fellows, research coordinators, and 12 patient partners.
The workshop aims to determine how CNTN can best support the conduct of kidney research, including studies of highest relevance to patients. To help inform the workshop agenda, Can-SOLVE CKD conducted needs assessment surveys of CNTN members as well as the general Canadian nephrology community. A survey was also distributed to patient partners to seek their views on clinical research participation.
